Understand monthly cap credits

A monthly cap credit limits eligible metered resource charges for a billing period. Usage can keep accumulating until the credit is calculated when your invoice is issued.

The current standard configuration uses a 672-hour cap for eligible CPU, RAM, disk, and backup-storage meters. Check charges for public IP addresses and separately billed products separately; this cap does not cover the whole invoice.

  1. Open the invoice and find its monthly cap adjustments. Check the billing period and the resource charges they adjust.
  2. Compare the corresponding month in Billing overview. Compare resource quantities as well as time. If you resized a VM during the month, its allocation changed.
  3. If an expected adjustment is missing, send billing the invoice number, service ID, billing period, and resource entries. For a comparison with an earlier invoice, include both invoice numbers.

Pay the amount shown as due unless billing confirms a correction. An estimated future credit does not settle an invoice.
