Windows VM FAQ

Which Windows versions are available?

Cloud VPS offers Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 Datacenter. Check the template selector for current availability at your chosen location.

Is a Windows license included?

Licensed templates include a production Windows license, with its charge shown in the estimate. Evaluation templates are for testing. If you want to bring your own license, contact us to confirm the licensing requirements.

How much CPU, RAM, and disk space should I choose?

The Windows product page suggests 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, and 40 GB NVMe for a light remote desktop workload. Use this as a starting configuration; operating-system minimums vary. Allow additional resources for your applications, users, updates, and data.

How do I connect?

Use a Remote Desktop client with the VM's IP address and Administrator credentials. You can also use the browser console in the client area. See the control panel overview.

Can I run a multi-user remote desktop?

Contact sales about Remote Desktop Services CALs and a configuration suited to your users. The Windows OS license alone does not cover every remote desktop use case.

When is a new VM ready?

Allow Windows to complete its first boot and initialization before connecting over RDP. Use the console to check progress. If setup appears stuck or RDP remains unavailable, open a support ticket with the VM details.

See Windows Cloud VPS for current configurations and licensing options.

Browser passkeys, Windows sign-in, and Remote Desktop authentication are different features. Check what your application requires before choosing an OS version. For connection problems, start with Console and report the exact error before considering a Windows upgrade.
